The one pictured is over 20 years old and still works fine but my Brother-in-law would like one too. Anyone point me in the right direction? :thanks |

2009-05-19 23:15:00 | Gadzooks! That looks like the 220V electric dryer plug for my laundry! What are you trying to do - burn down your electric clothes drier? And how do you stack 13 M&M's on top of each other. They are not legal for measuring in private or public commerce here in the States - we use inches and feet, fer cryin' out loud! I'm trying to measure the height of 13 M&M's right now, but they keep on falling over - sheesh! So far it looks like 13 M&M's is a pretty large power drill! You might want to get a 480 Volt one if you're gonna drill things that large!

2009-05-20 08:09:00 | 13 mm is 13 millimetres NOT 13 m&m's SuperGlue is handy. Start with one M&M and glue the same to a flat surface ensuring that the said surface is level and that the M&M singular does not have any irregularaties on its surface down to 1000th of an inch. Use a micrometer to acheive this. Repeat another 1 dozen times or should I say 12 times. The USA is sadly behind the times as we were is New Zealand when we used Pounds, shillings and pence prior to 10th July 1967 for currency when you over there had already taken up decimal based currency. Any one cent coins in the USA at the moment? Can you spend a penny? A 10 cent coin is the lowest we have at the moment. Recently our currency coins changed to become lighter. I do notice recently that a number of Tourists in NZ get killed off because some insist on driving on a different side of the road to most of us that live here full time. Some of us here get on drugs, alcohol, inattention and get killed as well. The Aeronautic and Naval people still use Knots as a measure of speed and this is based on a mile being based on nautical miles 2000 yards when it's actually 1760 yards according to British Imperial measure. Trying for recipes I found that there are various sizes of teacup for example. And what is a pinch of salt? And tried cayenne pepper by the tablespoon, teaspoon, or what I usually do is use the wrong end of the teaspoon to insert the pepper into the dish. It works for me and others. It would appear to me that the only thing that is worldwide is the measurement of time there is one year made up of 365 days or 366 depending on whether it is a leap year or not. And even then it changes as whe had to change when the commission responsible for such things changed it and we had to change the clocks to adjust. Sorry I can't remember what I did with the extra time if I got it and I can't remember losing any time. Time is important to me as I want to appear when I say I will. I do not want to be late. I also do not want to be referred to as the LATE Sweep either in local News for example.

2009-05-20 09:46:00 | What about XIIV 'M's? | R2x1 (4628) | |
2009-05-20 13:18:00 | So that is Roman numerals I think. X = 10 I = 1 V = 5 So XIIV seems to be 13 I think. XIIV means that X = 10 II = 2 And the V = 5. As the V comes after the II it means subtract I had noticed that quite a few films come up with Roman Numerals for the year the film was made. Even those made some time ago in the USA. Never yet noticed something like III/VII/MCMXCVIII for example www.novaroma.org

2009-06-03 15:27:00 | I suggest that instead of M&Ms for a new standard, we use something a little more adult - shot glasses . Measuring someone's height by the X-factor of shot glasses is a lot better than M&Ms since I have seen shot glasses stacked, which M&Ms cannot do without super glue or spit . There may be other bonuses that escape me at the moment .
