| 775081 | 2009-05-19 01:53:00 | Is it just me, or has the level of spam in gmail been increasing? My spam folder normally sits at around 500, but is now pushing 950+. Also, a few are sneaking into my inbox as well. Not to an alarming degree, but it's unusual for any to get in. | ubergeek85 (131) | ||

Just had a quick look - just under 600 in there at the moment, which tallies with "messages that have been in Spam more than 30 days will be automatically deleted". Quick analysis over the last few days indicates the average is fairly static at 20-odd a day... | johcar (6283) | ||

| 775090 | 2009-05-19 14:44:00 | I've definitely noticed an increase lately - my gmail address is my only email address - I have it set up on a client. I reckon one of the things which helps spammers is the stupid chain emails that people send to everybody in their contacts list (yeah, that will bring you good luck...) with all of the email addresses in the header. It only takes one compromised computer to feed them all to a spammer. |
