Windows Xy laptop using wireless. Problem began when I download free version of AVG which was unable to install part of it. Error message - can't install as another application is using ?. Tried to uninstall avg from start bar as programme was listed with its uninstall option. Wouldn't uninstall. No listing in ad-remove programmes. Decided to restore computer to earlier restore point. Froze half way through it. Turned it off and restarted it but it gets as far as listing the users .ie my sons name. Underneath his name it says logged on . Also says to begin click users name and when I do it brings up a red screen with only the compaq name on it. No taskbar, no cursor, can't do anything - grateful for any help please |

See if the removal tool will kill it (www.avg.com). Make sure you get the right version |

No won't start in safe mode. Gets to user login page, shows user is logged in, tells me to click users name to start and then goes to a red page with nothing on it except Compaq |
