866173 2010-03-11 21:28:00 Looking at getting an Nvidia EVGA Gforce 9800 GTX graphics card. Any Bad Company 2 players out there? Is the above card a good one for that or does anyone have any recommendations? Want to play on Max settings.

Cheers LL

866174 2010-03-11 21:40:00 Not a good value card any more unless you are getting it uber cheap.

You would be way better off buying something like a ATI HD5770 for around the $270 mark, a LOT faster.

866175 2010-03-11 21:45:00 Look for a 4850 for around $160. qazwsxokmijn (102)
866176 2010-03-11 22:29:00 You also need to remember Bad company 2 is cpu intensive so having an i7 over a dual core can give you 20+ more fps Silver_Blade (10144)
866177 2010-03-11 22:40:00 Son has:
q8200 Intel core 2 quad CPU@2.33 Ghz Is this ok?
CPU speed rated at 5.126 Ghz
Currently has GeForce 210 512 RAM
4 Gb RAM
Acer Aspire

866178 2010-03-11 22:47:00 Yeah its ok as long as its not a dual core as dual cores tend to play badly in this game Silver_Blade (10144)
866179 2010-03-11 22:53:00 Many thanks for comments guys, will post on here what he decides.
He's going to buy Bad Co. 2 anyway and see how it goes.

Most important is the resolution or size of the monitor!

yep another Co-devolved console port with high CPU usage even at 1900x1200.

866182 2010-03-12 04:41:00 Resolution is currently at 1280 x 1024 on 17" monitor. Not one of those wide screen ones, but a squarish flat screen (CMV older model)
Son has bought the game Bad Co. 2 and it works ok on low graphics on the GeForce 210
He would like to improve on that and run it on max, hence the query about a more suitable card.
