They must have sent him a letter detailing what had been done.

I reckon the error may be from fluffing the .00 on the end of 10,000
If the keyer had hit the 0 instead of the . on the keypad, then there is the extra three zeroes required.

If so, this issue could be prevented with a system that refuses any entries without .## on the end. ie an entry of "5" does not default to "5.00" If you want $5 entered, you must key the decimals too "5.00"
However, it would add a layer of tedium for bank staff.

As for my take if it happened to me...
Absolutely take a copy of the statement! And frame it.
Tell the bank within a day.
Be very happy if they were to leave the one days interest for me as a 'reward'.

775703 2009-05-22 23:18:00 With a $10,000,000 piece of bait, I am a bit unsure exactly what I would do, however, if the bank wants to cooperate in a little test . . .

775704 2009-05-25 12:42:00 Usual story here.

The media report what they hear or what they guess.

Other people make up their minds based on what they think they know.

Then things get to trial and evidence produced can and is suppressed by either Prosecuction or Defence. A jury can only hear evidence which is admissable and as to the witness swearing "I will tell the truth. The whole truth and nothing but the truth." On whatever he/she holds sacred like the Bible or Koran or so.

Why do you think, during a trial, Jurors are excluded from certain arguements or debates?

No person has been charged with an offence yet as far as I am aware.

Just carry on knowing that your opinion is 100% correct.
