866878 2010-03-13 12:12:00 Hmm may not be enough for any. By wireless, I take it you mean its going through a wireless modem / router? Or wireless as in Woosh? If its going through a router, is it secure / are you using something else besides WEP? Speedy Gonzales (78)
866879 2010-03-13 12:16:00 Probably 512 megs and integrated graphic card then. Sweep (90)
866880 2010-03-13 12:21:00 Using a Thomson Router which is connected to my desktop pc. Laptop is in the lounge several rooms away lol. Router secure as far as I know only using wep. No antivirus on laptop - don't know which free one to put on but I need one aye? dianne pierce (13385)
866881 2010-03-13 12:30:00 I suppose an AV program will help. You could try microsoft's one, since its free. But, it can slow a system down, while its updating. And when you run whatever program.

They say Avira personal is pretty good (www.free-av.de). Only thing is, it doesnt support email scanning (but it'll detect whatever if you decide to open an attachment, thats infected)

I would still use something else, besides WEP if the laptop and the router support something like WPA. Otherwise, you never know. Anyone who uses wireless in your area, will use your access.
