2009-05-28 05:18:00 if you can, take the entire lining off. and see what was used to hold it on before, sand/scrape the old glue off and tell us the colour and (if you can) the odour of the old glue (if used) is williamF (115)
2009-05-28 05:20:00 ive pulled the lining off, it pretty much fell off. behind it there is a orange foam-like layer. theres no real smell to it. but its very dusty hueybot3000 (3646)
2009-05-28 05:24:00 it may have had a adhesive foam backing in that case, and the foam has disintegrated or the adhesive has melted or "cohered" from the heat of the roof or father time williamF (115)
2009-05-28 05:27:00 being 20 years old i think its held out pretty well but it isnt giving me any indication to what it is hueybot3000 (3646)
2009-05-28 05:40:00 You could always go for the retro look and replace the vinyl lining with some shag-pile carpet - very popular back in the 70's. Cheap too, and warm in the winter. And you could use F2 for that..... johcar (6283)
2009-05-28 05:45:00 its originally this material stuff but im gonna redo it in black vinyl, im a sucker for black vinyl  hueybot3000 (3646)
