| 774955 | 2009-05-18 10:11:00 | Wellington has had "Snapper" cards for electronic bus ticketing and micro-payments. This is a system backed by Infratil and EFTPOS NZ. Officially, it only exists in card form, and for ANZ/EFTPOS employees, they have small keychain dongles similar to USB flash drives. Today, I saw a person use their cellphone - it appeared to be a smartphone (it looked a unfamiliar, so might have been one of the new Telecom XT ones??), with what looked like a small Snapper "chip" stuck to the back of it. Has anyone else seen these? Or even better, does anyone have any insider information as to when these might be launched officially? |
