776706 2009-05-25 02:18:00 I have the afternoon off and thought I would watch the 2009 Indy 500 replay at 12-00 on Sky/ESPN. As they were going through the starting grid positions it had Scott Dixon on pole position. I thought thats strange as he qualified 5th. Anyway after a while they displayed a position screen which said this was the 92nd Indy 500. The one raced today at 5-00am NZ time today was the 93rd. In the Sky guide on the internet and on TV its says a replay of the 93rd Indy 500. I rang Sky and they apologized and said they new about the stuff up and said it was beyond there control as they get a direct feed from ESPN and also said they had notified ESPN about the problem. Anyway there is a replay at 9-30 tonight which I hope is the right one.
BTW no results of todays race please.

776709 2009-05-25 03:12:00 God had a lot to do with the win - so I gather from the pathetic coverage :( Zippity (58)
776710 2009-05-25 03:41:00 Just watched the race I recorded earlier. Thank God for MySky fast forward. Typical American coverage of a sports event, all ads with break-outs for some action. Monaco GP was a much better race. May as well have watched an A1GP race as all the cars are identical Honda Dallara. Roundy roundy roundy = boring. Richard (739)
776711 2009-05-25 07:15:00 Give me motorcycle racing anytime...

I remember a program on racing where the interesting comment was made that the "input" in F1 and Indy are 80% car - 20% driver. Whereas MotoGP and Superbikes are 80% rider and 20% rider.

Tried to tell my son this and he poo-pooed the theory, saying what a wonderful driver Michael Schumacher was and it was his ability that counted more than his Ferrari.

Then, in the bikes, "The Doctor" - Valentino Rossi changed from the winning Honda Marque to the unsuccessful Yamaha stable and blitzed the Hondas.

Then, of course, this year, Brawn has cleaned everyone up so far. Despite their driver, Jensen Button had only ever had 1 victory in his career before driving for Brawn.

Gentlemen of the Jury, I rest my case!

When I was living in the UK, I watched all the F1 races, not a problem when they are on just after lunch . Nowadays the F1 races seem boring, I hardly keep up with the drivers now . . . .

Superbikes, now there was racing, I used to watch when Slighty was racing, he always seemed to end up 2 or 3rd . . . LOL .

Now the only racing worth watching is the GP's!
