| 776628 | 2009-05-24 23:14:00 | Hey guys Manuals are useless in my situation so am here :) will explain as best as I can... We have a fax machine, home line...2 different numbers but on same line if people know what I mean...and we've now activated call minder but now the fax is picking up the calls b4 the call minder activates... We changed callmider ring to less than rings for the fax machine to pick up....but now no one can fax....coz the callminder is picking up the fax calls as well...n Does anyone know how to adjust settings to have both working? or is callminder a shitty service and we should get a proper answerphone? | 776629 | 2009-05-24 23:19:00 | So you have Faxability on your line? This means that you have a phone number and a fax number but only one line. Usually you need to enable Faxabilty, or whatever you fax machine calls it and it needs to support it as well, and set the fax answer mode to manual only. This means that if someone calls the phone number the fax will ignore it. If someone calls the fax number the fax machine should answer pretty much immediately. It sounds like you still have your fax set to fax/tel or fax answer mode which are only used if you only have the one number. |

| 776631 | 2009-05-24 23:41:00 | It looks like your machine calls it Ring Detection. Make sure this is enabled and any auto answer setting is turned off or set to manual. |

| 776632 | 2009-05-25 08:08:00 | heya couldnt find ring detection, but rang telecom... somehow they knew what I was talking about!! said to make the fax machine answer the ring thats longer than the phone ring... IE - 7 rings for phone to go to answer machine therefore fax must be 8 or 9 rings if it is a fax... so lets hope that works...just gotta wait see if someone faxes me and it works or not :) |
