777463 2009-05-30 04:48:00 In Africa we always used to shoot any animals that attacked humans, domestic dogs got 2 chances if they bit someone, third time police came out and shot them on sight, like they say on Alien, 'only way to be sure'.

Once a large predator gets a taste for humans and realize how easy we are to attack and kill they don't stop, at least that's what colonial folk-lore had us believe.

Sharks the same, eliminate by any means necessary, an ancient and deadly unfeeling predator from the past, crocodiles as well, silly people putting future children at risk in Australia and elsewhere because of misplaced green B.S. and sentimentality.

Wonders why we have recently imported a couple of Crocs from Australia?

People are the best Predators in the world in my opinion.

Animals kill people at times usually when you get them annoyed.

People kill animals for food or sport like you never had a pork chop?

Some animals are encouraged by people to kill other animals like pitbulls or hunting at hounds.

People kill other people and this happens on a daily basis worldwide due to wars or people just getting off their brain.

The other point is that I am almost sure that people have killed more Tigers than tigers have killed people. I could be wrong as I have not done an actual count.

Why is it that we let a tiger die but we let people like serial killers live?

777465 2009-05-30 05:34:00 Oh dear. News again.

I think putting animals "to sleep" is a little different to the animal being dead.

Perhaps tranquilser darts could have been used which would immoblise.

Possibly the same could be used on people rather than tasers? Or why was the tiger not tasered?

777468 2009-05-30 06:13:00 I agree with a possible change of management.

The Tiger was shot with a shotgun and .308 as well according to your News link while the person was being mauled. Was this one person carrying two firearms and used both. And why did Park staff have easy access to firearms?

The criticism being levelled at them is they should have had the gun in the enclosure, It would have saved the mans life. As it were they had to retrieve it from a location 300m away.

And the man that is dead made no mistakes whatever. If the man was not in the cage with the tiger in the first place the event would not have taken place.

Special as in being frank idiots when it comes to treating the planet and its inhabitants? Yeah.

In short this planet would do so much better without having to put up with so many humans. Humans kill for sport and entertainment. Animals only kill for food. It's been documented that impalas and zebras would graze around lions that have had a feed. Impalas and zebras grazing around a guy with a gun or a poisoned arrow is as good as dead.

Yep Metla.

And if the man had never been born he would not have been there either for that matter.

The difference I see is that the man had a choice as to where to be and I suspect the tiger did not. A tiger in my opinion has never captured a person and put the same in a cage for the entertainment of other animals.

Sure you get maneaters and there are reasons at times for killing people as well.

And nature is blamed here too:-

It would not have the fault of any driver would it.

Admit that the weather was mentioned as a "constributing factor" rather than the main factor or the only factor.

It seems to be a fact that four people are now dead and three injured.

There are no reports ( as yet ) that a tiger was involved but a person who still survives may give evidence that a farm animal was the cause as the said animal was on the road but I somehow have doubts as to whether a tiger would have been involved.
