| 867520 | 2010-03-17 02:36:00 | I fixed the same problem recently. I uninstalled the sound device in device manager, then restarted the laptop. The "new hardware discovered" wizard detected the device , and re-installed it using default drivers, that worked fine. I then updated the driver using the downloaded driver, and all was well. Hope it helps. |

| 867521 | 2010-03-17 03:47:00 | Thanks for all the suggestions. A bit of this and a bit of that worked fine. I now have the sound going. I tried your suggestion Ferg. While it did not work exactly as you said, it did turn on the sound using the default drivers. Although I am not certain, I think that somehow the "audio device" was switched on as well. Thanks so much for your help, everyone. I have found this forum to be a great help.:thanks |
