778495 2009-05-31 03:38:00 Well where's ours?
We were supposed to have sea level snow, or at least sleet.

There's been some showers and it tried to hail briefly earlier but now its sunny and blue............not even especially cold.

778496 2009-05-31 04:40:00 Just had a shower of hail and sleet and snow at 12.15pm thats all in linwood.

So then may I assume that the original complaint against the Met service is now invalid?

Some people get paid to predict the price of fish in the rhubarb season or what shares you should invest in or where you put your hard earned dollars.

For me I can't even predict whether my vehicle will start tomorrow or not. Some person may go off with it in which case it won't be where I expect it to be.

I expect to have my evening meal tomorrow at where I live but there again I may get a phone call and change plans accordingly.

I can't predict which of my CVs are going to result in a job offer either. Some have and some don't.

Let's go easy on the Met guys with their CHC forecasting - it must be a hell of a place to forecast for if you can sit in the nice warm sun yet is also very cold, the wind is a chiller ...

Definitions of pom on the Web:

Sure you can numerous other definitions but its common usage is to refer to a Brit.

778499 2009-05-31 05:21:00 Beautiful clear day here in Wanganui.

I'm popular because I cancelled our trip away due to the extreme weather forecasts.

Still, I'd be even less popular if I took us into a weather bomb...

778500 2009-05-31 06:05:00 It snowed here in Wellington about 10 minutes ago (briefly), but the sun has come out now. There's still some hail on the ground that hasn't yet melted from earlier this afternoon.

Where abouts was the snow? I'm on Stuart Drive. It looked like hail, but it drifted about a bit much. Was that snow?

I've turned up the music to keep warm. Apologise on my behalf to them?
