867962 2010-03-17 06:11:00 When ever I start Windows XP I have to click on the account name and type the password.

In the link below is a picture of what I used to see when I started XP.

And now
I have to click on the login name to type the password

Is there a way to permanently have the login like image in the first link?

867963 2010-03-17 06:14:00 Disable the password in control panel. I think its under user accounts. I think the option to remove that screen is also here Speedy Gonzales (78)
867964 2010-03-17 06:18:00 Well when I reinstalled XP it would show the flashing cursor and I didn't have to click on the account name for it to me type my password.

Now I have to click the user account before I can type my password.

867965 2010-03-17 06:19:00 So what do you want? To login or not? Speedy Gonzales (78)
867966 2010-03-17 06:22:00 when the Administrator account is the only account on the pc it selects it automatically. In the second picture I noticed that you have a named account that is not the root admin account. nedkelly (9059)
867967 2010-03-17 06:26:00 So what do you want? To login or not?

I want to login without having to click the username to type the password in the first picture link.

The second picture link shows that I have to click on the name to enter the password.

867968 2010-03-17 06:35:00 As Speedy said -- go into the Control Panel, User Accounts, click on your account, remove password - reboot.

If that one account is the only user, then it should boot straight into windows.
