867277 2010-03-15 01:14:00 Lately I have had a number of messages to friends using Hotmail rejected.

The returned mail comes with the following message:

The following message to <--------@hotmail.com> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery information and support'

It's different messages and different account holders.

Anyone else having problems or any suggestions. :thanks

867278 2010-03-15 02:39:00 Who is your ISP?
Looks like they have been blacklisted by hotmail.

867279 2010-03-15 02:58:00 Try resetting your router to get a new IP address, if that doesnt work contact your ISP Ollie (794)
867280 2010-03-15 05:45:00 Thanks guys.

It's real queer because it doesn't happen to ALL mail.

My ISP is "kinect" (Trustpower) and I might say the best ISP I've had.

Hard to fathom why it would be a Hotmail only issue.

Doh! Looks like one of their servers is blacklisted for backscatter.

Their listed SMTP server 'send.kinect.co.nz' appears to not exist:
me@toshiba:~$ host send.kinect.co.nz
Host send.kinect.co.nz not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
