| 779228 | 2009-06-02 23:29:00 | We won our Disputes case against this guy - although he sold to us under eminel - his son's account . See his feedbacks, especially the ones relating to chainsaws and you can see why he didn't use his own account . I knew Trademe wouldn't care: Thanks for contacting us with the information that we requested from you . I have reviewed this with my colleague and we have made a decision as to whether or not we will be removing the account of 'stevie25' . We have made a decision not to remove their membership at this stage . As Trade Me was simply the venue for this trade we do not believe on the basis of this one ruling that this member should no longer have access to their Trade Me membership . At present their feedback is still at an appropriate level and we do not believe that it is appropriate to remove them from the site . We will record the decision that was made in your Dispute and take this into account in future incidences with this trader . It is possible that we will remove this trader from the site in future . I'm sorry to tell you that we aren't able to do this at present . Once again I'm sorry that you had this experience on the site and I appreciate you sending through this information . If you have further questions regarding this issue please reply and we will answer your email as soon as possible . Regards, Emma Trade Me Support http://www . trademe . co . nz |

Regards, Emma Trade Me Support http://www . trademe . co . nz I wonder if that 'eminel' trademe user is over 18, which is required to have a trademe account . The guy is from Featherton, so it doesn't surprise me that you had problems . Featherston is a very low socio economic town in south Wairarapa, and there are a lot of poor people who live out there . I don't want to tar all people from Featherston with the same brush, as there are some nice properties and nice people who live there, but it does have a higher than average number of down and outers . |

| 779232 | 2009-06-03 09:53:00 | Well blam6 (14yrs old) has been dobbed into TM, and I just looked he hasnt been disabled. I think TM just wants the revenue and ethics are out the door. Wouldnt have happened when that Morgan dude owned it. |

| 779235 | 2009-06-03 11:25:00 | Sort it out by concocting a story or waiting till you turn 18? I think many of trademe users are under 18 years old. I had a problem with a user, who I found out was only 16. I suspect they know that too, but cancelling all those accounts could cut out maybe 20% or more of revenue, as it is the younger person who is the main user. I had a problem with a user, who I found out was only 16. I think people would have less problems with trademe, if they policed the age criteria properly. Perhaps requiring photo ID on signup, or requiring some form of authorisation. |

| 779236 | 2009-06-03 20:46:00 | PCTek, I got a similar reply when I had problems on TM some months ago, and again TM gave me the same answer they gave you. The other guy has since notched up about 20 negative comments (similar to what he did with me) so I wonder - but then I really don't care about the *rs*h*l*. sarel |

Yes. The guy was a logger, hardly down and out. He was just a ripoff artist. I know where Featherston is, I've been there. You could say the same about most small towns in NZ, thats a rather large generalisation you've made............. And yes, I'm totally unsurprised at TM. It either has to be all over Fair Go or have gone to the police before they care. So long as they make loads in fees of the traders they can pretty much do what they like. |
