868469 2010-03-20 19:01:00 see, with red sn0w, it says 'this process is done. everything else will take place on you ipod' and yet nothing happens on the ipod. The screen just stays blank. and when I restart it, it just goes to a normal home screen, no cydia, no nothing. jonathan (15437)
868470 2010-03-20 23:22:00 From start to finish during the process, what do you see on your iPod's screen?

Which version of redsn0w are you using?

start to finish, nothing. just a black screen.

version, 0.9.2, and then 0.9.4

868472 2010-03-21 02:08:00 start to finish, nothing. just a black screen. Then you didn't follow the instructions - DFU mode results in a white screen.

version, 0.9.2, and then 0.9.40.9.4 is the correct one to use - 0.9.2 won't work with the image you're using.

I do eveything it tells me to do to get into dfu mode. I have also tried all the tutorials on YouTube. Am I missing something?

You're probably just getting the timing wrong - you have to be rather precise. Note that it needs to be switched completely off before you start.

868475 2010-03-21 03:12:00 How exact does the timing need to be? jonathan (15437)
868476 2010-03-21 03:16:00 It needs to be very close to the timings that redsn0w displays. Erayd (23)

when red sn0w gives the instructions to put into dfu mode,(hold down power button for 3 secs, etc.), it says 'then release the power button while still hoding down the home button for 30 secs', but for me, after 10 secs, it goes to the attached phase, and the ipod is black, and unresponsive. have to restore it to get it to reboot.
