779099 2009-06-03 10:54:00 Ever thought that the company sent back the hardrive to seagate under rma and seagate repaired it? ZapperBoy10647 (11988)
779100 2009-06-03 11:23:00 (that threshold has changed though - but I don't recall what it was).

779101 2009-06-03 14:29:00 This is my third attempt at writing a reply, I hope this one is a lot less sarcastic than the previous two drafts.

Now, first off we dont allow such blatant posting / selling / promoting of services on PressF1. Its called spam. I'm tempted to delete this whole thread because of that, however I reckon there's more of a chance people will probably end up trying to boycott that Cafe because they're not paying their staff.

Now, I remember what it's like to be 15 and figure the world is your oyster! I really do!
However the following points come to mind:
1) Under-the-table is bad, for many reasons, don't go there...
2) Admitting to trading under-the-table on public forums is an even worse idea, again, don't do it (too late)...
3) Yes, its a big bad world out there, and there are many cynics, but don't let that get you down. If you can do well on TradeMe, then good for you. I think the intentions of most here are good (I'd like to hope at least).
4) Warranties are an issue you're going to have to deal with, be prepared
5) Pay taxes, register for GST, keep your head above water. Heck, ring the IRD, they'll tell you everything you're going to need to do when starting a legit business.
6) You really should look at getting paid at the Cyber Cafe. I know its great to be 15 and not have bills, but imagine if you were being paid only $10 an hour for the 88 hours a week you're working there. Then imagine saving that all, for two years .. I dunno about you, but when I was 15, the thought of $100,000 made my eyes glow with dollar signs! ;)
7) Last point: Keep your cool. No need to react so badly to the likes of blam6. Using that kind of language (in your other thread) is not tolerated here, this is your first and last warning on the matter.

Please though, do stick around the forums, and I'm sure people will be interested to hear in 6-9 months how things are working out. They're a good friendly bunch, if a little territorial about the field they call "IT Support".

In the mean time, please, no more new threads on the subject of starting a new business, its going to bring out the trolls...
