780182 2009-06-07 08:38:00 This may interest PF1 members living in India (if there are any): thomashawk.com think it is safe to assume 99.99% of our members with Indian IPs are on the banned list. :p

Looks like a pretty basic filter MS are using to block the word "sex" from being searched on. If you put a word in front of sex, or combine it with some other common terms, it still works. You wonder why they bother.

780183 2009-06-07 21:09:00 Why would YOU be using that search Jen? Purely for academic/testing purposes I assume...

:D :D

780184 2009-06-08 13:07:00 I used it once, it gave me all the wrong results, but let's face it: As far as I'm concerned, Google can do no wrong, especially with everything they've done for me like Google Mail, Google Apps, Chrome, and soon Google Wave will blow the world away!

I can't wait :D

780185 2009-06-09 02:39:00 I think is way better than Live, and I do like the more detail tab the pops up at the right of each search result.

But that said, how do you attempt to challenge Google's dominance from a standing start? It's not like Google will stand still.

And having whacked my head against my desk repeatedly while dealing with Games for Windows Live when attempting to install an add-on for Fallout 3, I was again reminded that MS has an almost unrivaled ability to screw up things that should be dead simple ....

780186 2009-06-10 11:07:00 A staff member at work was somewhat infuriated to find that his computer (XP) is unable to access Google except via bling. He was ready to lower it the quick way for two floors. Fortunately a firewall clampdown on IE and a quick install of Firefox has solved the immediate crisis - has anybody else suffered this apparent hi-jacking? I can't understand how this could happen - he is protected (snort) by Nortons.

Speed kills - surf safe and slow with Nortons. Kills viruses by boring them to death.

780187 2009-06-10 11:42:00 Hehe. Microsoft's new search engines name reminded me of one of the C&C Red Alert 2 cutscenes (www.youtube.com) bob_doe_nz (92)
780188 2009-06-10 15:08:00 It's certainly a heck of a lot better than their previous search engine Agent_24 (57)
780189 2009-06-11 05:06:00 Just tried it. Search choice of All or Australia only. I'm in Kaiteriteri SI. not Kimberly.
Same result with Firefox, Omniweb and Safari.
Epic Fail.

There's a region setting at top right if you are using bing.com. Or you could just go to bin.co.nz.

Who's your ISP? Maybe your IP address is within an Australian range, so Bing thinks that you're there, and not here.
