868700 2010-03-20 10:50:00 At present I am running Sunbelt Personal Firewall (Free Version). I realise this only protects from incoming traffic. Is there any free, reputable product that also protects the system with outgoing traffic?
I have short arms and a long pocket :) Thanks

868703 2010-03-20 12:24:00 Depends how paranoid you are. You could use one of the ones I listed, or pay for one, which maybe easier to figure out Speedy Gonzales (78)
868704 2010-03-20 13:50:00 Sunbelt / Kerio could do a very good job of filtering outgoing traffic too last time I looked at it. It just wasn't the default setting. Erayd (23)
868705 2010-03-20 19:28:00 zone alarm free is still going. the amount of free firewalls is getting less and less. tweak'e (69)

868707 2010-03-20 19:44:00 I've had this on my list of software to check out for a while now, I can't say how good or bad it is but the reviews say ok:

868708 2010-03-20 21:07:00 Sunbelt Personal Firewall (Free Version). I realise this only protects from incoming traffic.

Download the manual - it does allow outgoing allow/deny stuff.

868709 2010-03-20 22:07:00 Sunbelt Personal Firewall Does auto block outgoing - it all has to do when you install it, you have two options, basic( I think) or Learning .

If you select learning Mode it will block every thing that wants out -- Has done on the last 5 PC's I put it on .
