779948 2009-06-06 03:46:00 Sunbeam is a good brand. I use those long boiling kettle that keeps the water at 100 degrees. Not sure what you call it? Not quite popular in NZ. Ninjabear (2948)

Got a Russel Hobbs before and it lasted only just after the warranty! Changed to a Zip (much cheaper than R Hobbs) and I am still using it.

779953 2009-06-06 11:10:00 The only good thing about my Russell hobbled was the noise it made when I squashed it.
Replaced it with a Warehouse model which vanished during a serious swipe by SWMBO at around 5 years of age. She still hoards it, so I have a fresh one from the same source, it is coming up 2 years old. no leaks, no steamed fingers, and minimal bench space used. :)

779954 2009-06-09 02:47:00 Thanks all for your advice. We got a ZIP cordless shiny black base and Glass bowl. Quite and am very pleased with the pouring of hot water. NO DRIPS kountryken (14110)
