| 869636 | 2010-03-24 08:42:00 | No its because I couldnt slipstream 8 updates. Either way, if I installed one (a DX update), it went AWOL during install. And one of the WMP updates did the same thing (dont ask me why). I was testing it with virtual pc. I have added them to the ISO, after I created it (with Poweriso). I just cant be stuffed running them separately after I've installed the OS ;) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

You may need the WAIK kit from MS, its a big download (www.microsoft.com) just over 900MB -- Had to get the latest the other day. |

| 869640 | 2010-03-24 09:45:00 | I've got the Vista and Win7 WAIK. But its for Windows 2000 (dual booting with Win7). Which is what I'm on atm. The VHD is what I created to test 2k. To see if the slipstream I did worked. It did. Now I'm trying to capture / save that VHD file. That looks easy enough (with Win7). might check it out. It was developed by Microsoft to deploy its latest Windows operating system releases, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, which use it as part of their standard installation procedure. It works equally well with legacy versions of Windows however, and is used as part of Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs. WIM does not seem to support operating systems prior to Windows XP (windows 2000...). BUT then on another site, under How WIM works (technet.microsoft.com), last sentance, it does --- So may be suck it and see. :confused: Trying to make a WinPE bootable CD the other day --- Must be doing / getting something wrong, as it says -- Hardware problem on booting --- Oh Well. |
