| 869551 | 2010-03-23 22:54:00 | Ok running win 7 64 bit When I transfer a file say 4gb to my 8gb usb drive it says file to large for destination. I have tried formatting the drive everything but it still wont frikin work Now what worries me is that I have a 1Tb drive full of files and I wanted to transfer something onto it, but I got the same problem, so my natural instinct would be to delete something the same size if not bigger than the file I want to move to make up enough room so I start deleting stuff on the Tb drive and it doesnt show that there is any more free space even though I ended up deleting like 100gig Sorry for the rambling please help |

| 869558 | 2010-03-25 03:26:00 | Regarding the USB drive issue - the problem is it'll be formatted as FAT32 at the moment, which has a max file size of 4GB. Your file is probably slightly over the limit. Reformatting the drive as NTFS, as Pctek suggests, should fix this issue, as NTFS has a far larger max file size. |
