| 782390 | 2009-06-15 03:42:00 | I have seen, in more than one household, people who wash their dishes before they put them in the dishwasher. :groan: Some don't go quite that far. Some only rinse their dishes. Why? Is the dishwasher not much good at washing dishes? :horrified I thought that the idea of a dishwasher was to save the menial task of dish washing, or is that a silly notion? There has been a dishwasher in our kitchen for the past twenty years and we have never found the need to wash the dishes before the dishwasher washes the dishes. Does that mean that we have found a brand that cleans dishes without the need to wash them first? Are there others that do not wash their dishes before they wash the dishes? |

However, I think they have improved dishwashers a lot since then and with the one where I'm living I don't bother rinsing. Also, the powders are caustic if I'm not mistaken. If caustic can't get it off then you probably shouldn't have let it sit on the bench for six days...:D |

| 782398 | 2009-06-15 04:06:00 | Absolutely rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher - it's much nicer for the filter, and for the poor sod who has to clean the filter... | Erayd (23) | ||
