This is one of the main reasons I dumped McAfee about 6 years ago (aside from the very average product quality)!

There was no 'opt-out' option when installing, instead (I found out much later) that the auto-renewal agreement was in the EULA (who reads those???!!!). Tried to get the credit card company to do them for fraud, but because it was in the fine print, they wouldn't (couldn't) do anything.

About time they got their just desserts, although "US$375,000 each" isn't what I'd consider punitive for companies the size they are.

auto renewals (but do give email warning before the renewal).
