781517 2009-06-11 22:44:00 There are a few software incompatibilities, the main one being NOD32 v.4 sometimes doesn't play nice. This should be fixed very soon, if it isn't already.

The main thing to remember is it's not cumlulative. I think it's the first MS SP ever not to be?

The two (most useful?) changes are it allows windows to natively write to Blu-Ray media, and there is no limit on half open tcp/ip connections. Great for torrenters.

781520 2009-06-11 23:22:00 Thanks all - have had SP1 installed since the day it came out, as I suspect most Vista user have had, since Vista was such a complete pig without it!! :badpc: nofam (9009)

781522 2009-06-12 00:40:00 Vista SP2 runs great, very stable. No problems thus far.

I downloaded the Ultimate SP1 and SP2 slipstream from MSDN and installed from scratch. I always think that's the best way when using Windows OSs.

781523 2009-06-12 01:16:00 I dont understand this 15-20GB of space back?........The O/S isnt that big in the 1st place! SolMiester (139)
781524 2009-06-12 01:49:00 Only had one PC turn its nose up at SP2 - mind you it was in a sad state before hand any way.

Ended up reinstalling using the DVD from technet with SP2 integrated - works like a charm now.

I dont understand this 15-20GB of space back?........The O/S isnt that big in the 1st place As I mentioned a while back - I had this PC reclaim around 30GB of drive space - while the OS is not that large - true - you cant disbelief the numbers, esp when lots of people are gettting the same results. Have a read of THIS ARTICLE (www.tweaktown.com) - see the amount of space others are reporting - you may be shocked.

Every other PC I have installed SP2 on has reclaimed approx 18 -20 GB.

On My own PC it was Vista NFR that MS gave me - It then had SP1 installed and later SP2 - what SP2 does is removes ALL previous updates as far back as it can go, it also does a damn good job of cleaning out excessive junk.
