780827 2009-06-09 06:38:00 Hello tax experts!

Was talking to my Dad about my electronic security apprenticeship for work and he said I should be able to claim the tax back on all my costs (block course costs, open polytech papers etc etc).

How do I go about doing this?

780830 2009-06-09 09:45:00 Have a search on their website. You can find out what you want there.

780831 2009-06-09 09:59:00 pine-o-clean: I actually don't think you can. I suspect people might have done it by calling themselves a sole trader and writing off the expenses as "staff training".

[Note: I am not an accountant, and the comment above is just an educated guess]

Yup and they are extremely helpful. Queues aren't that long anymore either since tax season has passed for many.

This should be framed in gold, that is the first instance EVER I've ever seen where helpful and IRD were used in the same instance.

I wish nothing but slow death on them.
