869186 2010-03-22 17:55:00 T-stick or Vodem - what's the quality like when it comes to Skyping?

Yes it is viable, although I don't know about video. There is a company I am aware of which routinely sends staff out to different parts of the country, with a laptop + Vodem, so they can keep in touch with colleagues at the office using Skype. Apparently it works quite well, although I think it's just audio.

To be honest, mobile broadband is pretty damn good these days, so it should be fine - expensive though if you plan to stream video!!!

869187 2010-03-22 19:24:00 In my case, money is not an issue due to corporate sponsorship. I will hunt around the Vodafone website for short-term contracts. Renmoo (66)

I was recently travelling up to Hamiton from New plymouth, with my son who was using his laptop and a telecom XT stick, sitting in the car beside me. he was happily Skyping friends around the place and the video quality appeared normal to me. i was also surprised that after an hour of this, he had only used about 40 megs. Quite impressive.
