781015 2009-06-10 01:42:00 Does anyone know a good company to send a computer tower from Wellington to Dunedin with.

I have it all packaged up and its 58x58x34cm and roughly 10kg. Currently my best quote I have found was $150 from NZ Couriers.

Anyone know any other companies that are cheaper?

Cheers

I use Economy Island To Island tickets with Courierpost (Dunedin to anywhere in North Island) and they cost around $20 I think

Yep they are much better.

You could see if McDowell do freight to Dunedin, they are competitive although normally do larger packages. Stay well away from Fastways.

i sent an xbox with games which weighed about 9kgs for $13 track and trace with nzpost.

i put those dimensions and weight into the nzpost calculator and it came up with $50.50

781019 2009-06-10 02:19:00 Hmm the only thing im worried about with NZ Post is the insurance . I think they only insure up to $250 or something .

Maybe I should just send it without its pretty well packaged .

781020 2009-06-10 02:50:00 Post Haste.

$37 from Gore to Waikato.

Yes they are the same parent company as NZ COuriers but their pricing is a hell of a lot better. Insurance is to $1500.

781021 2009-06-10 04:46:00 Cheers guys Poste Haste seem to be the way to go. Roughly $50 including insurance.

781022 2009-06-10 06:19:00 Yes I find NZ Couriers to be about the dearest, but sometimes they are the fastest.

In all cases you can get courier rates much cheaper if you buy a book of tickets, but that does not help much if you only want to send something once (ie not on a regular basis)

781023 2009-06-15 05:32:00 Just an update.

I took the computer into Posthaste and they sent it through Castle Parcel for $48 with insurance.
