871092 2010-03-30 04:52:00 Problem: When the laptop is plugged into AC, it doesn't experience random shutdown. However, when the laptop is running off the battery, it experiences intermittent shutdowns from time to time.

A new battery has been tried, but the symptoms persist. BIOS is up-to-date, SpeedFan doesn't indicate overheating prior to sudden shutdown.

871093 2010-03-30 05:24:00 Maybe the "Shutdown when battery reaches x%" is set too high.
Or the battery state reading is incorrect.
Monitor the reported levels and see what happens.

871094 2010-03-30 06:08:00 Problem resolved - it seems that the new battery wasn't properly clicked into the right position in the first place.

Thanks for your suggestion though, Fred :)
