871012 2010-03-29 23:56:00 Have decided that I need to get a bigger hard drive for my laptop because I am constantly running out of space.
Hearing what people have been saying I have decided to stick with Western Digital.
What do people think of this hard drive (pricespy.co.nz)?

871013 2010-03-30 00:12:00 Seagate or WD, 6 to one half a dozen to the other. I like Seagate.

I would definitely get a 7200RPM drive though, I upgraded my notebook from a 5400RPM to a 7200RPM drive recently and there was quite a noticeable difference in speed.

871015 2010-03-30 01:52:00 They had an issue with a firmware release a while back (SD15) but that has been fixed for some time now. I've seen plenty of in warranty WD drives with problems in the last few years, from what I've seen Seagate are still more reliable. wratterus (105)
871016 2010-03-30 02:10:00 oh ok, completely changed my mind about seagate then. nedkelly (9059)

I have had no problems with Seagate hard drives and if I wanted another that brand is what I'd get.

I got a 500gb Segate placed in my MBP a few months ago, working perfectly.
