870849 2010-03-29 01:36:00 Hey, i know a slight amount about computers. I know more than the average person out there but i need some help :). I bought a new computer back in may 2009. The first day i got it, it was working fine. After a couple days i started getting the blue screen of death at random times. I could never figure out what was wrong or what was happening to cause this problem. I've kinda ignored it and let it happen. If i start the computer in safe mode it will never crash. I download speedfan and i decided to see if i could figure anything out. I dont know if SpeedFan should give me a huge list of items in the Temp list but all it shows right now is:

GPU:
TEMP:
HD0:

It says my GPU is running at 72 degrees Celsius. Im not sure if that is a high number for a GPU, and if that could be causing my system to get the blue screen of death alot. Is there any advice you guys could give me to fix the blue screen of death comming up all the time? and is there any software that could tell me my CPU temp?

870850 2010-03-29 01:40:00 Press the windows key + pause key. Then go to the advanced tab. Go to the bottom option (startup and recovery). Untick automatically restart. Next time it crashes, tell us what it says. Since its ok in safe mode, you may have malware. Have you scanned the hard drive, for malware / viruses? Speedy Gonzales (78)
870851 2010-03-29 01:45:00 I've scanned the computer with AVAST and it says my computer is clean. Is there anything you would recommend to scan it with to make sure that my computer is clean? It is a completely random crash too. Sometimes when i just boot up windows on the logon screen it will crash, or if im playing a game it will crash. I cant pinpoint whats causing it to crash. It is likely it will crash pretty soon, i will try to what it says. OKTHEN (15702)
870852 2010-03-29 01:47:00 Boot into safe mode / networking. Get hijackthis below. Install / run it. Then click on scan the system and save a log. Copy and paste the log in here

We'll see whats in it. What version of windows is installed?

Next time it crashes, yup just take note of the stop error, and a file (if it shows one)

870857 2010-03-29 02:57:00 Uninstall smartram. Type mem under search. Select memory diagnostic tool. Let it test the memory. See if any errors come up. Did you do a clean install, or upgrade from a previous version of windows? Speedy Gonzales (78)
870858 2010-03-29 03:01:00 I didn't have smartram running when the crash happened, and its a .exe that i use whenever. I removed it earlier today, before the crash happened, :(. Could it be some type of hardware issue? OKTHEN (15702)
