870709 2010-03-29 08:36:00 It's an easy decision, seriously.....they are priced around the same, but the 5970 has the performance crown. qazwsxokmijn (102)

Added to that I would prefer to get a proven card and why change what you had already decided upon unless there are compelling reason(s)?

Too many unknowns at this time for me but I'm cautious anyway.

870711 2010-03-29 08:47:00 You guys make me laugh in this performance thing. Say if we have 2 identical computers both running the same game but one with Nvidias top card in and the other with ATIs top card I bet you, you couldn't till the differance.

870714 2010-03-29 18:54:00 I have always been a nVidia fan, and I had finally decided to grab the ATI, now once again I am undecided.

Wait for real benchmarks.
Then specifically for the game(s) you will play - which has better performance.

Or just buy whichever appeals to you.........

Kinda in line with what your saying, Hardocp tests GPU's using a "Highest playable IQ settings" user experience type system, opposed to just a medium and maximum frame rate on a chart, possibly the only hardware review site that does.

Part of there conclusion "We can’t say that any of the real world gameplay advantages blew us away compared to the experience of gaming on a Radeon HD 5870"

Well worth a full read for those looking at a upgrade.

870716 2010-03-29 19:46:00 I think I will stick to the ATI this time around. When I replace it in a year the Fermi cards will have matured and be hard to pass up. DeSade (984)
