783269 2009-06-27 07:00:00 Here's one that has a famous puppet-operator's daughter in her movie debut I think:

"Pray for an early spring... or permission to open fire. "

The last line in the book, but not the movie was: "I was almost home" after the tendons behind his knees were severed and he was holding a .50 cal BAR.

783270 2009-06-28 12:52:00 The Sand Pebbles (1966, Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, Candice Bergen (daughter of Edgar Bergen (Googled this bit :)) etc), saw this movie on NZ tv a few years ago. feersumendjinn (64)
783271 2009-06-28 22:48:00 Here's an easy one:

"...and the fact that you have Replica written down the side of your gun, and the fact that I have Desert Eagle point-five-o written on the side of mine, should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence..."

Best line ever. Best movie ever.

Snatch! Very good film indeed.

'He's got a friend called Desert Eagle point five oh, and they're both staring straight at me'

Good one - I can't get you any Vegemite, but how's about some dilithium crystals for your VW Matter/Anti-matter engine?

Can you see the last line "I was almost home" fitting into the last scene?

I was a little upset that the movie version left that single line out .

It was pivotal, I think .

Got to be an Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) quote, surely?

783276 2009-06-29 04:45:00 Yes it is .

That was "A Shot In The Dark" with Elke Summer and it was supposed to pre-date the Pink Panther movie, but it was felt it wasn't fast-paced enough and it got shelved, only to come out AFTER the Pink Panther broke the ice .

So that's why there's some confusion on scripts and acting policies and characters .

I still love the scene in the front desk at the nudist colony when Clouseau discovers that everyone but he is naked .

783277 2009-06-29 04:49:00 I love the old pink panther movies, the new ones don't do them any justice. wratterus (105)
