870375 2010-03-27 19:09:00 I get a string of beeps each separated by about 2 seconds on switching on.

The system does not get past this stage, nor does it allow me to get into the BIOS.

Keyboard, mouse and monitor are connected.

Running Win XP with an AMD XP 2500+ processor, around 1.5 gig of ram. HDD 250 gig.

What do the beeps signify ? Guess it's a problem of some sort.

870377 2010-03-27 19:28:00 Without knowing the exact sequence - mostly beeps are RAM or graphics card.
Try reseating them, if that doesn't work, test each of them.

And check the link to see which your beeps match........
