The signal must also be reasonably strong If you have an existing UHF aerial, it may just need to be re-aimed; UHF aeriels are usually highly directional, which means if they're off just a little bit you won't get anything. What area of NZ are you in Mark? |

2009-06-18 08:20:00 | Cool - so are you receiving SKY via an aerial (UHF), or a satellite dish? | nofam (9009) | |
2009-06-18 08:22:00 | a satellite dish... am just looking on the freeview website and it appears you need a special aerial?!

2009-06-18 08:34:00 | a satellite dish... am just looking on the freeview website and it appears you need a special aerial?! Yeah - that's the UHF aerial I mentioned; looks something like this (www.gogog.co.nz) Go here (www.freeviewnz.tv) and enter your address, and see what the coverage is likely to be.

2009-06-18 08:47:00 | The Freeview TV are a bit of a con. They sell them in Masterton but we are never going to have a UHF transmitter here so it is a total waste of money getting them. | mikebartnz (21) | |
2009-06-18 09:07:00 | If you download the Tauranga map from the link below, you'll see Rotorua fares very poorly for Freeview DTT reception... www.freeviewnz.tv oads%2Fpdfs%2Fpalmerston_north.pdf&x=24&y=4
