It seems as though MSE's recent application update fixed their max-CPU issue, but I still felt like giving Avast5 a whirl.

I'll be honest, it looks visually very appealing. Uses little RAM / CPU, doesn't get in the way, and the Gamer Mode is cool too.

Question is: What are the overall detection rates like?

871866 2010-04-02 08:08:00 No idea about detection rates but I found it caused lag of 5 to 10 seconds when opening my browser, and my email and affected the performance of my system overall.

Disabling the real time scanning caused an immediate return to near instant launch of apps.
