784707 2009-09-20 06:18:00 I have bought a DIGISTAR 811U digital satellite receiver with PVR function on the 8th of September 2009, on Trade Me for $101 and it is going great guns. Cannot see why it should not do so for a very long time. The receivers without PVR are even cheaper. A very good mate of mine bought one over Trade Me in the $60 bracket about six months ago, and it is just great too. Why pay more?? :banana Devie Boy (12457)
784708 2009-09-20 06:55:00 Would recommend staying away from Zinwell. Every FV installer I've talked to says they are great when they work, but 40% - 60% failure rate is too high.
Next Electronics who are the service agents for Zinwell say they are a good Freeview receiver.

Excellent little box! To be honest it crashes a little, but it's relatively good in every other aspect. The EPG doesn't show the title for two weeks worth either, just the "slots" where the shows are.

For $250 to record in HD to a HDD, I'm stoaked ... Better that, than $1300-odd for a freeview approved one ;)

If they are the service agents they will love 'em if they keep breaking! :p

Nah seriously though, they are a very good decoder, quick and have a great feature set. They just have a habit of dying rather regularly (or so I've been told).

Thats a bargain . I payed $450 for mine from Noel Lemmings back in June . They are Freeview approved . The only things I don't like about it is that it only has a red led for power off no green one for power on and it is not very bright . My receiver sits in a cabinet with tinted glass doors and in the daylight you can't till whether it is off or on . When watching TV I turn the receiver off first then the TV . Another problem I find is the remote is not very directional . You have to be pointing it almost dead strait at the receiver for it to work . Minor problems .

Read the pro's and con's though .
