872138 2010-04-02 08:16:00 quick question if you install vista on a PC then you upgrade to win 7 does that mean you can use that same copy of vista on another PC? smithinator (15240)
872139 2010-04-02 08:18:00 play games for windows on ubuntu linux?

You can use WINE to try and do so, but it can be very difficult to get complex stuff like games working in it. If you're a hardcore gamer, best to stick to windows.

Probably be better, if you did a clean install. You could install it on another PC, but you may have to ring the MS 0800 # to reactivate it

872141 2010-04-02 08:27:00 so i can keep win 7 on one computer but use vista os that i originally upgraded from (with the win 7 upgrade pack) on another computer? smithinator (15240)
872142 2010-04-02 08:33:00 No, You cant use Vista at all. If you want to install it on 2 computers. Unless you buy another version of vista then reinstall it. Or remove it from the PC you upgraded to Win7 Speedy Gonzales (78)

872144 2010-04-02 09:29:00 i believe it was system32/drivers Ouch --- Even a windows XP CD wouldn't fix that one, maybe a repair install "might" - a full reinstall would :) wainuitech (129)
