785366 2009-06-24 06:02:00 Cool, you can even see the air disturbance behind the engines. pine-o-cleen (2955)
785367 2009-06-24 06:31:00 Strafing run? Flying damn low if the airport is still another 8 miles away...

I think I can see a topless sunbather!!! :D

785368 2009-06-24 06:48:00 That reminds me of sunbathing on a beach on Santorini (Greek Isles) that happened to be right next to the airport. You could actually see the tread pattern on the plane wheels as it flew over. :xmouth:

Thanks goodness it was a military plane coming in for landing, and not some big sucker.

785369 2009-06-24 07:08:00 Ah Santorini!

Wish I had visited. The thought of all the Ouzo that I have missed out on.... :crying

I'm intrigued as to why so many people think that it is flying low. It has no shadow that I can find. Would be useful in calculating its height.

8 miles out if it were on the glide slope would put it at just over 2000 ft.

785371 2009-06-24 19:56:00 Actually, I don't think the A300 has the upswept wing ends. I was thinking of the A340 but that's a 4 engine plane.

Boeing didn't do any planes like that...

How about an A330?

785374 2009-06-24 22:49:00 Joe, there seems to be canals built through (thru) the city. Are these for land drainage or are they natural water courses that have been straightened (straitened?). Richard (739)
