872630 2010-04-04 03:06:00 Here's a question for the virtualisation gurus here...

I want to do some experimenting with running Windows inside a Xen virtual machine. Unfortunately my Xen "server" is too old to support Intel-VT, so I am not able to virtualise Windows on that machine.

My desktop on the other hand is quite powerful, supports Intel-VT and has a ton of CPU and memory capacity available. Could I: Run Linux with a Xen host (dom0) inside a VirtualBox or Virtual PC virtual machine, and then run a Windows VM as a Xen domU?

872631 2010-04-04 03:08:00 A follow-up to this question is, has anyone had any experience migrating a Windows VM from a Xen host across to another virtualisation product like VMWare ESX, Hyper-V, VirtualBox or similar? I found this www.vizioncore.com the other day, which looks promising, but I can't test it out as I don't have the hardware available at this point. somebody (208)
