If the Maori of 1800's werent too worried about owning the seabed etc, why the fark should todays Maori?.....Greed my boy!'Its just another excuse for a hand-out if you ask me!, Christ, they have enough rights as it is with regards to fishing quotas etc....if they get seabed etc, they will then be going for the fishery rights etc around NZ..... Agreed - I vote gas them all. |

I don't have a problem with the Maoris owning the seabed and foreshore as long as I can go down to the coast anywhere and dive for seafood. Take that right away and it will be a civil war, Maoris versus Anglos, a war that the Maoris will lose big time. You will note from my comment on Lake Taupo,that they have been nasty to some wanting access to lake,in some parts,some of which where Europeans have had access for years. I have a book on things found in NZ garden and note the Maori for flea is Pakeha. Speedy might like being referred to as a flea,it has no appeal to me at all. |

Seems about right though. Call me a racist, but going by what I see, day to day, (and I'm not saying Maori can't be or aren't contributing, productive members of society), it's usually true, percentage-wise. |

Yep, the stupid thing is that we are being so PC these days - its almost racism in reverse. And Speedy - I do agree that Europeans are also guilty of being lazy and greedy, however are all us Europeans fleas ;) |
