It is not as though they are a small company. Obvously they don't see NZ as an long term investment, and are after short term profits, without the investment. Personally I would avoid them, you are better with Black an White, if you want a mobile reseller. |

I suspect it's because they can make some relatively easy money by being a reseller, which doesn't involve HUGE amounts of capital to be spent on building and maintaining a network of their own. Plus, it doesn't tie them down to any one technology, so when the next most flavoursome communications medium is launched, they can jump on the bandwagon without having to worry about upgrading their own equipment (apart from billing systems, of course). Call me a cynic if you like... |

And I think their billing systems are pretty poor, I remember when I was a Paradise user, and Telstra brought them out, I and a lot of other people had huge billing problems, which is why I would never use them again. When it comes to teh internet, most ISPs basically piggy backing on telecoms infrastructure anyway, without investing in their own network. |

Telstra hasn't exactly been at the for front of setting up new infrastructure here. They bought Saturn then Clear which already had been setup and running. |

| 789381 | 2009-07-06 22:15:00 | Telstraclear wasted a lot of money when they came to NZ they only have a network in chch and wellington and kapiti coast,The original plan for chch was for them to put cable tv into every suburb in chch but only 60% of chch has telstraclears service. When they first came here they announced they were going to spend $1.5 billion in getting the citys they announced fully cabled with tv and broadband well what a waste they only have three cities with there network in it and not all are fully cabled what a waste of money. |

| 789382 | 2009-07-06 23:56:00 | They were going to set up there own mobile network which they did tests on but for some unknown reason they canned it more money wasted. | Hitech (9024) | ||
| 789383 | 2009-07-07 00:57:00 | Given TelstraClear's history of announcing products/services and never bringing them to market, I'll believe this Vodafone move when I see it. Not that it matters for me, since there's no Vodafone coverage where I live... |
