788834 2009-07-04 05:41:00 This comp 80GB mostly free partitioned in 20/60 split.

Spare comp one 40GB split 20/20, one 40GB for movies at the moment and an 80GB for backups of main comps just what I happened to have lying around when I needed more space in the spare comp.

Other spare comp running Puppy linux 40GB unpartitioned. 80Gb laptop HDD in a ext case and that's without SWMBO's comp 80GB 20/60 split

788836 2009-07-04 05:46:00 I installed gears of war on E, but I think I'll get the Xbox version instead. Bloody ASUS NAP kept kicking in everytime I was playing it. I could uninstall NAP but the fans can get a bit noisy if its (and the other programs arent installed). Speedy Gonzales (78)

What is that variation of Parkinson's Law? - junk accumulates to fill the space available?
One day the junk will fill everything.

788840 2009-07-04 06:39:00 Only got a laptop ATM with a 160Gb drive, split into:
C: 69.5Gb
D: 69.5Gb
Recovery: 9.8Gb I think. That leaves about 11.8Gb to shrinkage.

Both partitions are very, very full. D is full of larger files (archive.org videos, rainbow tables, PS1 games), but C has it's share (mp3s, smaller videos, lots of random data from PS1 game hacking [I think I was the first person to publish instructions on opening *.cdp/*.cnp files from the Gran Turismo .VOL file], A few whole websites [xkcd, bash.org, techtales, totse, phluid.org, acid.org]).
