788367 2009-07-03 03:26:00 The very least you can do for a job interview is turn up sober, and not suffering the effects of a hangover or smelling of alcohol.

...plus have a shower and shave (you too, girls!) and put on a clean set of clothes!

788368 2009-07-03 03:26:00 If you have beer for breakfast then I would not employ you!

To answer your question try google like I did.

788369 2009-07-03 03:58:00 Anyone wishing to engage in temporary or casual work with Allied Workforce must be able to pass a security check and could be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing depending on individual client requirements.

As it says you could be subject to drug and alcohol testing, not that you WILL

788370 2009-07-03 04:03:00 and if a person is drunk at their interview it doesn't mean they will be drunk on their first day of the job.
You're obviously not getting the point.....

788371 2009-07-03 04:32:00 How bout some simple, very easy to follow advice.

Don't drink the evening before or the morning of your job interview.

If that's a big problem, you might be an alcoholic.

788373 2009-07-03 05:14:00 i just dont want to work for a company that is going to tell me what i can and cant do in my own personal life. if they're going to tell me i cannot drink alcohol mon-thurs then i dont want to work there. the law lets me drive a car as long as i'm not over the limit so i dont see why the same cant apply when i am an employee.

788374 2009-07-03 05:47:00 Well a beer after work or even two (or a glass of wine or two) is perfectly normal and no job will fault you for that.

It's just not generally acceptable to drink while at work or right before. A beer with breakfast in the morning is ... uncommon ... however you may get away with it. I wouldn't recommend it though. Your breath better not smell like alcohol.

Employers don't care what you do in your weekends etc, but it's not unreasonable to expect that employees, while at work, are never under the influence of any alcohol, even just one drink. That's a slipperly slope employers don't want you on!

The alcohol testing is probably a clause allowing them to test for alcohol in your system while at work. I would expect that it is not acceptable to have any alcohol in your system while at work. However, light drinking the evening before wouldn't lead to an alcohol reading the next day at work unless you actually drank quite a lot the night before, which wouldn't be acceptable.

Sounds appealing, how much alcohol are you expected to test each day? (Once you get into the swing of it.)

788376 2009-07-03 06:50:00 How can something like this be difficult to understand, don't turn up to anything work related drunk. Going out on a work night isnt a big no no either, as long as it doesnt effect your performance on the job

Pretty simple and reasonable
