| 874705 | 2010-04-10 02:20:00 | Hi I have installed windows 7. (full install not upgrade) All the windows 7 & program folders add up to about 20GB, but my drive "properties" tell me 96GB have been used. Any ideas on why? can I recover this space? |

If you've installed programs after installing it, use something like ccleaner, to get rid of the temp files they've created | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 874707 | 2010-04-10 03:08:00 | I installed 2 days ago. Although I have loaded some apps, I'm missing about 80GB of disc space. note: HP "factory" recovery is on a separate drive. |

If you are have 'Hibernation' activated it will take a whole lot of space. You can delete this file by turning off Hibernation and rebooting. Install 'Crap Cleaner' and scan the drives, this will remove redundant temp files & installation files. It's a bit early for an accumulation of Restore files, but if you disable system restore & reboot, the files will be deleted. Turn them on again if you wish. |
