789510 2009-07-06 09:22:00 I heard that you do not need to finish level 1 or level 2 to gain your ncea level 3 certificate. However you do have to finish some ncea level 1 and ncea level 2 courses to do ncea level 3 courses except for some. I would like to know what those courses are. Another thing is I am trying to gain my ncea level 3 credits really fast can anyone recommend me any courses that are simple, quick which has lots of credits in them. flushdns (15070)

789512 2009-07-06 09:27:00 School isn't about getting credits - it's about learning. You will find that if you try to rush through high school with the intention of just getting the minimum credits necessary to gain UE, then you will really struggle through your degree. There's a lot of stuff you learn which isn't assessed, and therefore isn't associated with getting credits, or passing exams. somebody (208)

Choose the subjects that will set you right for the future, not ones designed for a quick fix! Not many people in the real world are concerned about credits - what do you know and what can you do is more important.

789514 2009-07-06 10:21:00 Isn't there an old saw that goes something like..

If it is worth having then it won't come easily ?

When I was an apprentice many, many years ago it was for 5 years. Overtime , study credits or suchlike made no difference to the 5 years. I believe, now, that the term is 8000 hours & overtime can reduce this.

I still believe that it takes time to aquire knowledge. Time to aquire mental & practical experience,

Normally, in real life,5 or 6 murders don't happen in one hour. Only on TV. Same with real life, it takes time to accumulate experience. PJ

789515 2009-07-06 10:23:00 Having taught IT and Finance at Uni for many years in the distant past I can only say if you can't figure it out for yourself why bother? Rob (6897)

That, and....

if you can't be bothered going through high school and do it from yr11 through yr13 then don't bother with anything else. University is definitely not like high school where one can just piss around and still pass.

Unless of course you are much older than 15 years old. Would not want to be stuck in a classroom full of 15 and 16 year olds when you're 18 or above.....shivers...

789517 2009-07-06 13:35:00 As you do not mention what Level 3 subject I hesitate to reply.

I have just started Level 3 in computing and already had some level 2 and 3 credits when I applied for my current course.

None of the previous study was counted but I had enough to be accepted and the course is online and free.

I need 60 credits to pass level 3 and I have six months in which to do it.

Currently I have five credits. Only another 55 to go.

12 asessments at 5 credits each = 60.

After that I plan on going to Level 4 for which I will have to pay.

Nothing comes fast or easy that is worthwhile.

I do have some life experience as I'm out of school and get superannuation now.

789518 2009-07-06 14:10:00 To the OP.

It may be better if you use one thread to ask questions about education and the way you want to do it.

Having gone through previous posts from you I have no idea whether you want to use correspondence, online or attend a University in order to achieve the goal you are trying to set for yourself.

In one post you mention a degree for example.

Perhaps you should just concentrate on a career with McDonalds.
