1451136 2018-07-02 08:51:00 SWMBO had a couple of dubious payments made from her debit card last month.
So she rang the 0800 for info.
123plays.com and music611.com were the culprits.
SWMBO recalled seeing emails from those sites on her work computer and filed them in the spam.
The card person suggested she contact the two sites regarding this, but was not prepared to block any further payments to them.
At this point of time she has sent polite emails to both sites requesting cancellation of whatever it is she has been charged for and requested a refund.
I suggested she cancel her card immediately, but she really takes my advice.
Can anyone shed any light on this.

1451137 2018-07-02 09:19:00 Welllllllll Just looked on both sites, strangely (NOT) the Questions and Answers and all the actions on both sites are identical. Highly suspect they are the same place.

You may be best to cancel the Credit card. Most of these places wont answer or act on requests.

In Fact one question/ Answer states:

Do you have a refund policy?

We don't have long-term contracts or sign up fees, however, all charges are non-refundable. Simply cancel your membership and you will not be charged in the future.

They do state :

Refund Policy

One (1) month premium members may cancel their subscription at anytime during the initial thirty (30) day period following registration and receive a one hundred percent (100%) refund of their respective membership price. No refunds will be issued after the first thirty (30) days of Service. Directive 2011/83/EU provides you the right to cancel your purchase within (fourteen) 14 days for any reason. The 14 day “cooling off” period begins from the date you receive the digital product. If you choose to cancel your order you must provide us with notice in writing prior to the expiration of the 14 working day “cooling off” period. You will receive a refund no later than 14 days after we have received the notice.

If your SWMBO didn't use the credit card then somehow someone has gotten hold of the details.

Question: This may sound harsh, BUT -- Any grand kids etc likely to have been visiting , using the computer or gotten hold of the details possibly ??

1451138 2018-07-02 10:28:00 Yes it is possible someone's gotten hold of the card.

She's hoping for a reply before blocking her card.

Could be a problem unsubscribing, as she won't know what user name was used.

Just go ahead and block the card and have it replaced. If as it appears it is being missused you have no way of telling what other things may be charged to it. It is next to impossible to get cash back from a dodgy outfit and your bank would far prefer you to be proactive and have it sorted now.

1451140 2018-07-03 05:33:00 She got a standard reply back from both sites, saying they were looking into it and would get back to her.
I persuaded her to block the card today.
I was surprised the 0800 card person didn't suggest it yesterday.

The sensible thing to do IMHO. Certainly the safest thing.

SWMBO got a identical reply from both sites .

1451143 2018-07-05 04:55:00 That looks like a very expensive sub for a music streaming site! CliveM (6007)
1451144 2018-07-06 08:33:00 I call bullsh*t re their email reply.

It's extremly unlikely any visitor to their site who used your CC info also quite innocently stumbled onto their sister site and chose to sign up there as well.

These are likely rouge sites that will milk your card monthly until the card is stopped at the bank level. DO NOT take their word for it that no further charges will apply, otherwise in a months time you may find another US$100 missing from your account.

Besides, report the issue to your bank , insist on a new card, and you might even find they reverse the charges, so you don't lose that hundy.
