1450786 2018-06-21 08:22:00 Well, it’s the Winter Solstice in NZ, so I thought I’d wish all you Global Warming Missionaries a warm and fuzzy night. :)

Should you wake a 3am – 4am tomorrow morning, freezing your butt off, consider your beliefs. :D

1450787 2018-06-21 10:14:00 Pretty sure Jacinda wouldn't say it seemed like the shortest day of the year. R2x1 (4628)
1450788 2018-06-21 13:02:00 What I like about reaching the shortest day is that is that we can now look forward to longer days and shorter nights.

I believe that the sun will gradually rise earlier and go down later each day until 21 December.

1450789 2018-06-21 19:33:00 Hmm yes summer is finally on its way, however first I have to sort out the frozen pipes so we can have water again today, thought I had it all sorted after the last time a month ago. gary67 (56)
1450790 2018-06-21 21:00:00 I don't mind winter. Although of course, I am not in snow, which is a pita if you have to go out in it.

Autumn my favourite month. Chilly here, no doubt worse once we have moved.

1450791 2018-06-21 22:21:00 I quite like winter. The lawns don't grow as fast.. paulw (1826)
1450792 2018-06-22 10:58:00 I, too, am glad to see the winter solstice. It means spring is on the way. Roll on September.

We have been fairly lucky with the mild winter - at least up north anyway. But I'm still looking forward to the nice weather and those long summer evenings. Can't come soon enough.

Well, that's definitely something to look forward to.

As I recall it was on a Wednesday.

1450795 2018-06-22 21:30:00 Beware piroska, quite a heavy frost here in Nhapier this morning. 1/2 inch of ice in the birdbath.... Brrr.

Not to bad, I went for a walk at 7am, still dark and quite cold, but what a beautiful morning. We have had a Bellbird singing in a tree for about 3 weeks now. Makes it all worthwhile. A beautiful sound of a Thrush a couple of houses away completes the morning.

I cannot understand people who stay in bed in the mornings.
