1450775 2018-06-20 03:23:00 Im considering buying a cheap car DVR , as where work has a dangerous narrow winding road (& a Nutcase road-rager who lives down that road)
I just want to record whats happening with oncoming traffic , just as proof when oncoming traffic drives up the middle of the road .

Dont want to spend alot, just wondering if anyone here has tried car DVR's and how well they worked for them

1450776 2018-06-20 04:06:00 Not personally, and unless I misunderstand I'd say they are more commonly called Dash Cams.
If it's just for a single recording and you have a smart phone there are plenty of dash cam apps available, or you could just film with the phone if it's a short trip.
you just need a phone mount that'll let you point the camera the right way.

Thats a great use for my old phone. And on the spot replay would be easy

1450778 2018-06-20 06:28:00 dash cams are really cheap these days.
i recommend one front and rear.

but keep in mind they also show what you do to.

1450779 2018-06-20 22:45:00 Im trying out my small Action Cam as a dashcam. May as well get some use out of it. It runs on internal batt so no other wiring needed.

A dedicated dash cam is probably going to be the best bet in the long term. Ive seen them for US$20 upwards from Bangood & Gearbest
